As a U.S.-based company, we strive to protect both our domestic and international clients. Thus, protecting your data regardless of your location is a must for us.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In December 2021, we renewed our Data Privacy Shield Certification. It\u2019s one of the basic protective mechanisms we employ to ensure you feel safe collaborating with us to improve your email infrastructure.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Let\u2019s see what <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">U.S. Privacy Shield Certification<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> covers and what it means for EasyDMARC customers.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-is-privacy-shield-compliance\">What is Privacy Shield Compliance?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/easydmarc.com\/legal\/privacy-shield-policy\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Privacy Shield Compliance<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is a framework between the U.S. Department of Commerce, the European Commission and the Swiss Administration. It provides companies on both sides of the Atlantic with a mechanism to comply with data protection requirements when transferring personal data from the European Union and Switzerland to the United States.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Certified companies are deemed to have \u201cadequate\u201d privacy protection throughout E.U. Member States and in Switzerland. Essentially, it eases the legal process, possible discrepancies, and time lost if a company were to pass all the separate state requirements.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The framework adheres to the following principles:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><b>Notice:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Companies must notify relevant authorities of their Privacy Shield Compliance.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><b>Choice:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Compliant businesses must allow individuals to opt out from disclosing their information to third parties if the information is used for another purpose other than the reasons intended.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><b>Accountability for onward transfer:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The Privacy Shield Compliant organization that shares personal information to third parties is still responsible for the compliance of the latter.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><b>Security:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Companies must protect personal data from misuse, loss, alteration, unauthorized access, disclosure, and destruction.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><b>Data integrity and purpose limitation:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The collected data must be kept current, complete, and accurate. Additionally, companies are required to keep their usage purposes limited.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><b>Access:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Data subjects (clients) must have access to their own data to change, correct, or delete.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><b>Recourse, enforcement, and liability:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Individuals affected by non-compliance can seek assistance within the framework.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An additional 16 \u201cSupplemental Principles\u201d expand on this framework but the&nbsp; above presents the gist of Privacy Shield Compliance.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-does-the-privacy-shield-compliance-impact-easydmarc-customers\">How Does the Privacy Shield Compliance Impact EasyDMARC Customers?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a B2B company based in the United States, EasyDMARC works with a large amount of customer data from all over the world. We also cover <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/easydmarc.com\/solutions\/dmarc-managed-service-providers\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MSP and MSSP email security<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which puts a larger responsibility on us in terms of impact. After all, our company\u2019s choices in personal information protection spread to the customers of our customers as well.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the case of Privacy Shield Framework, our E.U. customers (and their customers) can rest assured that their personal data is safe with us.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-s-next\">What&#8217;s Next?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">First of all, we plan to stay on top of our GDPR compliance and Privacy Shield Compliance, adhering to the standard recertification schedule.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Second, those who\u2019ve been following us will know that <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/easydmarc.com\/blog\/announcing-soc-2-compliance-for-easydmarc\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">we\u2019ve acquired our SOC 2 certification in 2021<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">as well, accepting the five \u201cTrust Service Principles\u201d laid out in the accreditation process. Another step towards more transparency was publishing our <a href=\"https:\/\/easydmarc.com\/files\/EasyDMARC-SOC-3-report-2025.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SOC 3<\/a> Report in the same year.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another standard we\u2019re considering in 2022 is the ISO\/IEC 27001, which provides requirements for an information security management system.<br \/><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All these steps reestablish our central policy to protect our clients by all the available
