Emails sent from Help Scout servers will now pass SPF validation using a variable envelope return path (VERP) address set to their servers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-dkim-configuration\"><strong>DKIM Configuration<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To configure DKIM for Help Scout, you need to add <strong>two CNAME records<\/strong> to your DNS hosting provider (DNS zone). These records allow recipient mail servers to retrieve the DKIM public key from Help Scout, enabling proper authentication of your outgoing emails.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Required CNAME Records<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Add the following CNAME records to your domain:<br \/><strong>strong1._domainkey.yourdomain.com will point to strong1._domainkey<\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/.helpscout.net\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"><strong>.helpscout.net<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>strong2._domainkey.yourdomain.com will point to strong2._domainkey<\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/.helpscout.net\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"><strong>.helpscout.net<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>How to Obtain the CNAME Records from Help Scout<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Log in to your <strong>Help Scout<\/strong> account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Navigate to <strong>Manage \u2192 Inboxes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the inbox you want to configure.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to <strong>Outgoing Email \u2192 Use Help Scout<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The system will provide the two required CNAME records.<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/easydmarc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/33-20251215-214352-1024x765.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Copy these off<\/em><\/strong><em> (DNS Only) for both CNAME records.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>DNS changes may take some time to propagate across the internet<\/em>.<br \/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-verify-dkim-configuration\">Verify DKIM Configuration<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After adding the records and allowing time for DNS propagation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Return to the <strong>Help Scout dashboard<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the <strong>Test Settings<\/strong> button located in the lower-left section.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the CNAME records are detected correctly, the <strong>DKIM status<\/strong> will change to <strong>Active<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image
