Given its 153-year\u00a0 history and the trust built over generations, it was crucial for Florence Bank to maintain that trust while navigating the evolving landscape of email security. The first challenge involved managing a growing number of third-party applications authorized to send email on the bank&#8217;s behalf.<br \/><br \/>According to William Olejarz, Information Security Risk Analyst at Florence Bank, the organization was approaching the SPF lookup limit.<strong><br \/><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We had several third-party applications sending emails on behalf of our domain. We were running up against the SPF DNS lookup limit, which made management more difficult and could eventually cause authentication issues.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The second challenge was even more significant. Florence Bank had attempted multiple times to move its DMARC policy from p=quarantine to p=reject, but each effort blocked legitimate business emails.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAs we worked toward moving from quarantine to full enforcement, we identified legitimate business email dependencies that required further validation and alignment\u201d, recalls William.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The team understood the importance of reaching enforcement but lacked the visibility needed to confidently identify and resolve authentication issues. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;DMARC reports are in XML format, and they&#8217;re difficult to read, understand, and interpret. That was really the main roadblock\u201d, explains William.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-the-solution-visibility-managed-authentication-and-expert-guidance\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Solution: Visibility, Managed Authentication, and Expert Guidance<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Florence Bank partnered with EasyDMARC to gain greater visibility into its email ecosystem and make email authentication management more scalable across a broad range of third-party vendors. As part of the implementation, EasyDMARC helped the team build a clearer inventory of authorized senders and validate which services still had a legitimate business need to send email on behalf of the bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cEasyDMARC gave us a clearer view of our sending environment. As we reviewed the data, we were able to validate our authorized senders, clarify which services were still active, and streamline our email authentication records as part of the implementation process,\u201d recalls William.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With a more complete view of its sending ecosystem, Florence Bank was able to validate authorized senders, better align authentication records with current business needs, and further strengthen its authentication posture. To simplify ongoing management, the bank also implemented EasyDMARC\u2019s Managed SPF and Managed DKIM solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The Managed SPF and DKIM solutions put us in a position where we can manage both very simply. When we bring on a new vendor, adding their information is straightforward, and we have a much cleaner process for maintaining those records over time,&#8221; shares William.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-guided-enforcement-successfully-reaching-p-reject\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Guided Enforcement: Successfully Reaching p=reject<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"h-guided-enforcement-successfully-reaching-p-reject\">A critical part of Florence Bank&#8217;s success was the dedicated support provided throughout the implementation process. EasyDMARC assigned both a dedicated DMARC Engineer and Customer Success Manager to guide the bank from quarantine to full enforcement. It gives you peace of mind that your customers and your employees are receiving legitimate emails from your domain and nothing suspicious\u201d, shares William.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-ongoing-monitoring-and-operational-value\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Ongoing Monitoring and Operational Value<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even after reaching enforcement, Florence Bank continues to actively use the platform for monitoring and reporting. The bank incorporates EasyDMARC reporting into its ongoing security monitoring and governance processes. The platform&#8217;s alerting and reporting capabilities also help the team quickly identify unusual activity and respond before it becomes a larger issue.<br \/><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The dashboards are great. They show what&#8217;s happening with your email on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
