The Challenge: Deliverability Issues and Lack of Visibility
As the Co-Founder and CEO of Wayo, Julia Xu faced a challenge many startups encounter: mysterious email deliverability issues with no clear source. “People told me, ‘Hey, your email is going to spam, and I didn’t know what was going on and why it was happening,” she recalled. Although the company had been operating for over a year, no in-depth analysis had been conducted into SPF, DKIM, or DMARC on its domain.
A growing concern about missed communications and the fact that DNS changes could go unnoticed prompted Julia to investigate a reliable and user-friendly email authentication solution. “I needed something that would monitor our email to make sure nothing was being messed up,” she explained. As someone with no technical background, Julia wanted a platform that could translate complex authentication data into actionable insights.
The Solution: An Easy-to-Use Platform and Hands-On Support
After researching email authentication solutions online and watching YouTube videos on the topic, Julia discovered EasyDMARC. “EasyDMARC was the most frequently mentioned solution among YouTubers and in help guides,” she said. “So it was a pretty easy decision to sign up for their free trial.”
From the beginning, EasyDMARC’s platform stood out for its intuitive design and managed solutions. “I’m not a technical person. Looking into DNS was very confusing. So I really appreciated how the dashboard and user experience were built for anyone to understand.”
The platform’s breakdown of sender sources helped Julia identify specific issues with Amazon SES, which was separate from the company’s Google Workspace. As the company moved forward, support from EasyDMARC’s team helped build Julia’s confidence. “Every time I’m confused, I jump on a call and they walk me through the process,” she said. “That really helps me figure out if something is actually a concern, which is invaluable for me as a founder who has so little time.”
The Result: Strong Authentication, Improved Deliverability, and Peace of Mind
Since reaching a DMARC status of p=reject, Wayo’s authentication health has rapidly improved. “Our pass rate for Gmail is around 99%. When we first started, it was around 70%,” Julia explained. “Amazon SES started at under 50%, and now it’s increased to over 90%.”
Implementing a DMARC reject policy also revealed a hidden layer of threat prevention for the company. “I didn’t even realize there were so many people trying to phish us. Now I can see all these phishing attempts, and they haven’t been allowed through,” she said.
The greatest value of the product for Julia is the time it saves. “I don’t want to spend a ton of time on this. I want it to be in the background. The alerts are really helpful. Once I set it up right, I don’t really have to worry about it.”
Julia believes EasyDMARC is an ideal solution for early-stage founders. “If you’re just starting your business and don’t have cybersecurity set up, this is a very easy way to get started. You can make sure your emails are getting delivered and your domain’s not being used for phishing.”
Concluding Quote:
“EasyDMARC made my life so much easier. I don’t have to watch ten YouTube videos that don’t directly address my question. The support team, the managed solutions, the education – it all just works.”
