Check If Your BIMI Record
Works as Expected

If you have reached BIMI, it means your domain is already protected with key email authentication protocols such as SPF, DKIM, and DMARC enforcement. This is a strong foundation for brand protection and trust.

EasyDMARC’s BIMI Checker helps you confirm that your BIMI record is valid and functioning as intended. Once you enter your domain, the tool retrieves your BIMI record from DNS, validates your logo and Verified Mark Certificate (VMC), and shows how your logo appears across supported mailboxes.

If anything is missing or incorrectly configured, the BIMI Lookup tool will flag the issue and recommend how to fix it. For Australian businesses, this step adds an extra layer of visibility and credibility in inboxes, helping your emails stand out and reinforcing your brand’s authenticity.

What is BIMI?

BIMI stands for Brand Indicators for Message Identification. It is an email standard that allows organisations to display their verified brand logo next to authenticated emails. When implemented correctly, BIMI helps recipients recognise legitimate messages and builds trust in your brand.

In Australia, BIMI adoption is steadily growing as more businesses use it to enhance deliverability, improve brand visibility in inboxes, and support compliance with email authentication best practices.

BIMI works by allowing you to publish a specific record in your domain’s DNS that includes a secure link to your brand logo and, optionally, a Verified Mark Certificate (VMC).

When you send an email to a BIMI-supported mailbox provider, that provider checks your domain’s DMARC policy and verifies that the message passes authentication. If both checks are successful, the provider retrieves the logo from your BIMI record and displays it next to your message in the inbox.

To implement BIMI successfully, your domain must already have key email authentication protocols in place. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • A DMARC policy set to p=quarantine or p=reject to ensure enforcement
  • A Verified Mark Certificate (VMC), which some mailbox providers require
  • Your brand’s logo hosted at a secure HTTPS URL in SVG format
  • Your VMC file hosted at a secure HTTPS URL in .pem format
  • A valid BIMI record published in your DNS

BIMI builds on strong email authentication to enhance your organisation’s credibility and visibility. When your verified logo appears in supported inboxes, recipients can immediately identify your brand as legitimate and trustworthy.

This visual verification reinforces brand recognition, reduces the likelihood of phishing or spoofing attempts, and demonstrates your commitment to email security. For Australian businesses, adopting BIMI can strengthen both customer confidence and digital reputation.

You can use EasyDMARC’s free BIMI Lookup Tool to check, view, and validate your BIMI record instantly. Simply enter your domain name, and the tool will retrieve your record from DNS, analyse its components, and show whether your logo and Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) are correctly configured.

Enter your domain name into the checker and select Check BIMI. The tool will instantly retrieve your BIMI record, verify your logo and VMC, and show how your logo appears in supported mailboxes.

Just input your domain name and click the “Check BIMI” button. You’ll receive your BIMI validation results right away.

No, BIMI is not mandatory. However, it is widely recognised as a best practice for improving brand trust and email security. Implementing BIMI alongside DMARC enforcement helps recipients verify that your messages are authentic, strengthens your domain’s reputation, and improves overall inbox visibility.
